artistic, lived-in, nostalgia

I grew up in a rural farming town outside of Ottawa, Ontario, but now proudly call a small fishing community outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia, home. I am a mum to two wild and loving boys, Zane and Easton.

The biggest blessing of my life is getting to raise them with my best friend and other half, along the Eastern Shore, on his family's homestead. It’s a simple life and it is beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of.

We spend most of our days outside exploring the shorelines. I’m a sucker for good coffee, camping, old country music and pancakes on Sunday morning. I am happiest in or near water; seriously... the bath, the ocean, a lake, a puddle, you name the H2O and I am there. Thanks for being here, it means the world to me.

photography for the moments where you wish you could freeze time, and an experience made of memories

celebrate the real stuff

No frantic house-cleaning necessary. Real life isn’t a Pinterest board - and yours doesn’t need to look like one for our shoot. There is immense beauty amongst our mess, it’s where real life happens: the everyday that is all too easy to forget. Let’s vow to not let those special moments slip away.

make room to play

Life is too short to have boring, stuffy photoshoots. I want to capture your family (and your fun) in action! Let’s go to the park, jump on the trampoline, chase sunsets, fly a kite, or have a picnic - all while making memories. I’ll always guide you through your session, but the best photos happen while fun is being had.

Ready to capture your family the way your kids will remember you? Let’s do it.

frequently asked questions

Yes and no. I am there to give you prompts and tips to ensure the composition of images, but ultimately I want to capture you (and your family) as you are. The imperfect pictures are the ones you really want to hold onto. Movement is key in my images - and I will encourage you to walk, run, dance, and if you have kids, we will play games and explore. You will enjoy a real life experience with me there, to capture them for you in a way that mimics the way you remember your best childhood memories. Like anything, the more you put into your session (think: a sentimental place, or a significant activity for your family) the more you will get out of it. All you have to do is have fun and be yourself, I will take care of the rest.

Do you travel?

With two babies of my own, I like to stick close to home - but a good road trip fills my cup like nothing else. With travel fees being accounted for, I am available throughout Nova Scotia and the Atlantic provinces.

How long does a session take?

Typically sessions run between 1 - 2.5 hours - depending on how many images, how many locations we will be visiting together, how many individuals will be present at the session, and your goals for your photos. Admittedly, I have zero concept of time and will never put any time constraints on our sessions. I let you (and sometimes the kiddos) call the shots, until you feel we have captured everything you wanted and then some.

Do you choose the final images or do I?

I leave this one up to you. I am happy to choose the final images for you, but if you prefer to have a say, I will send you a client selection where you choose the images you want professionally edited. You do not own any rights to my raw images.

All final, high-resolution images will be delivered in 3-4 weeks through a professional online gallery. From there you will download the images to our personal storage. You will own printing rights to the final images.

How far in advance should we book with you?

As early as you can - especially if you’re hoping to book for a special occasion! Think: extended family gatherings, the expected arrival of a newborn (this will ensure I can capture your beautiful baby while they are still actually a newborn) or the last trimester of a pregnancy. These are all situations where timing is everything - and booking in advance will make sure I can be there for your family. That said, I love spontaneity and will make room for that when I can! It’s a good idea to follow my Instagram page, as I will post last minute cancellations, mini sessions, and other updates that may allow us to work together on a whim!
